Educational Objectives
This course includes a lecture, discussions and videos of hard tissue procedures followed by hands-on training. These provide an overview of pertinent head and neck anatomy to dentoalveolar surgery, biology of healing, surgical closure and advanced surgical techniques for gaining lateral bone volume and predictable concurrent implant placement.
Content
Hands-on Seminar- Pertinent anatomy & vital anatomic structures.
- How to perform an evaluation with emphasis on hard tissue structures as it relates to bone splitting and the placement of dental implants.
- Recognize potential complications of implant placement and bone grafting procedures.
- Protocol for bone splitting and proper instrumentation.
- Suture material and needle design & selection.
- Suturing techniques for tension free closure.
- Flap design for a wide range of surgical procedures.
- Develop a preoperative protocol for the pharmacological management of post-operative pain and/or infection that may occur with soft tissue and bone grafting procedures.

Dr Yvan TesolinDr. Tesolin received his degree in dentistry from the University of Montreal in 1991. His passion for the profession led him to take thousands of hours of continuing education in Implantology, Orthodontics, TMJ and Cosmetic dentistry. He completed his Master Degree (MSc) at the University of Donau in Austria led by Dr. Slavicek on treatment of Craniomandibular Dysfunctions. This was followed by the completion of Dr. Arun Garg Masters Series Program in Implantology. He has been running a successful private practice in Montreal for the last 20 years. As a master clinician, he is pleased to share with us his great experience in Implantology.

7 Continuing Education Credits per session
Subsequent to a review of the course outline, the ODQ and OHDQ have granted C.E. credits following the successful completion of this course. Note: ODQ and OHDQ have not participated in this course, therefore have not monitored the content in detail. The allocation of C.E credits is not an approval in this respect.
